SSI Case Assistance
Supplemental Security Income (SSI) provides monthly benefits to disabled individuals with limited income and resources — regardless of work history. Our advocates help you navigate the financial documentation requirements and build a complete, accurate application.
What Is SSI?
Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a federal program administered by the Social Security Administration that provides monthly cash benefits to disabled, blind, or elderly individuals who have limited income and resources. Unlike SSDI, SSI does not require a work history — it is based entirely on financial need and disability status.
SSI recipients in most states are also automatically eligible for Medicaid health coverage. The application process requires detailed financial documentation in addition to medical evidence, which makes it particularly complex to navigate without guidance.
How We Help You Apply
Assess Your Financial Eligibility
SSI has strict income and resource limits. We help you understand what counts as income and resources under SSA rules and whether you meet the financial requirements.
Document Your Disability
Like SSDI, SSI requires medical evidence of a qualifying disability. We help you gather and organize your medical records, treatment history, and physician statements.
Complete the Application
The SSI application covers your finances, living situation, medical conditions, and daily activities. We review every section to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Prepare for SSA Follow-Up
SSA may schedule a consultative exam or request additional financial documentation. We help you understand and respond to these requests appropriately.
Track Your Application
We explain what to expect during the review process and help you understand any notices or requests you receive from the SSA.
SSI Resource Limits
SSI has strict limits on "countable resources" — assets the SSA considers available to you. However, many common assets are excluded from this calculation.
